Staff FAQ’s
Recently the Train Oregon Virtual Career Coach visited many WorkSource locations via webinar to talk about how Train Oregon is going, gather feedback and answer questions staff may have. Lot’s of great questions came up and usually if one person has a question, it means more folks have the same question. We want to make sure staff are supported, so this will be an ongoing blog post. It will be updated as more FAQ’s come up over time. If you have a question but don’t see it here, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help! *Note: some of these answers will need to be updated over time if there are changes. Staff FAQ’s
Q: Is there a time limit for a customer to log into Train Oregon once they are authorized?
A: Yes and No. They will need to make sure they are an active WorkSource Oregon customer. If they are active, they have access for one year from the date they begin their first course.
Q: Is there a way to print a course transcript from Train Oregon?
A: No, but we are planning on adding this feature. In the meantime, a screenshot can be taken of “My Trainings” and it is also recorded in i-Trac under the “Train Oregon” tab.
Q: Does completing a Train Oregon course keep a customer an active WorkSource Oregon customer?
A: No
Q: Is My WorkSource username and password case-sensitive?
A: Username is not, password is.
Q: If a customer reactivates their account, will their Train Oregon access automatically reactivate?
A: Yes, if a customer reactivates their account, their Train Oregon account will activate too if it is within the one year subscription. If this does not happen, please contact Train Oregon or i-Trac support.
Q: Do we need to add WorkSource + Resume with every WorkSource + authorization.
A: Yes, at this time we would prefer it be added as it one of the most useful and popular courses. If you feel strongly it should not be added we will continue to work with your location on this.
Q: How do we keep Train Oregon running next year?
A: Thank you 🙂 Lobby your local Workforce Development Board. Let them know how valuable and useful it is to customers (and please CC’d – Kei Ishida on the email). Train Oregon relies on contributions from their local board to keep statewide access open.
Q: Does a Train Oregon subscription start from the date of the authorization or the time date they begin their first course?
A: The date a customer begins their first course.
Q: Can the date a course was completed be displayed in “My Trainings”?
A: Not at this time, however a customer can download their “Certificate of Completion” from within the course description page and it will display the course name and the date the course was completed.
Q: Can I print a report that shows me a breakdown by location of customers who have completed and not completed courses?
A: Yes, see our blog post with instructions on how to view and download Train Oregon reports.
Q: Are their Train Oregon trainings in iLearn?
A: Yes, it’s called OED – WSO – Train Oregon and will go over authorizations, etc. New staff should go through this training.
Q: Does it cost a staff member money from their budget to authorize WorkSource +, WorkSource + Resume or Premium?
A: No
Q: Are error messages coming up with some customers when they try to access Train Oregon?
A: Yes and we are working on a fix. If a customer has an existing account with our content provider, Open Sesame, then an error is occurring. While we hope to get this resolved soon, in the meantime, the customer will receive an email from Open Sesame providing tech support and access. They can also email Train Oregon at trainoregon@myworksourceportfolio.org
