May 2020 Updates

DHS Guidance from Food & Nutrition Services

Providers may alter services to meet needs of Career Boost participants adversely affected by the stay-at-home order. For example:

  • Additional case management
  • New virtual services including online training and classes
  • Additional support services

If you have a new service in mind contact your Worksystems contract manager to assure it’s allowable

Support Services

Due diligence must be taken when sending support services by mail (tracking receipt, canceling payment when loss is identified).

Providers may request reimbursement for the replacement service if a support service sent in the mail is lost (e.g.: bus pass, gas card).

Career Boost Job Retention

  • There is no limit to the number of times an individual may receive Career Boost Job Retention services.
  • Participants in Job Retention no longer working due to a COVID-19 closure may apply for SNAP benefits and be eligible for Career Boost service.
  • Once your SNAP customer is working and their SNAP case closes, they would be eligible for up to 90 days of Job Retention again.
