Sector Trainings for Staff

Come and hear from businesses directly what they want to see in future employees, learn what
resources are available in the community, and hear from past and current program participants about their pathway into our target sectors. Space is limited and will fill up fast! These trainings are specifically focused on: Current needs and demands within the target industries; current and future training opportunities; labor data around each target sector and building relationships with industry champions. Pacific Northwest Carpenters Institute Pre-Apprenticeship Program
PNCI offers Carpenter Trade Preparation– a focused, three-week pre-apprenticeship program 6-8 times a year, depending on the local workforce’s demand for Carpenters Apprentices.
POIC Pre-Apprenticeship Program
POIC’s 12-week program prepares adults for careers in construction and the trades. Trainees are PAID during this hands-on learning experience: classroom instruction, industry-recognized certifications, career exploration, and planning.

Impact NW Paid Appreticeship Program
A free 7-week in-person course geared toward individuals aged 18-24 with a vested interest in pursuing a manufacturing career. This cohort will begin September 26.

IT Training
WorkSource Portland Metro offers an 8-week, full-time (live virtual) IT Training. Training participants will learn the skills necessary for a successful career in IT and earn a CompTIA A+ certification. Training graduates are connected with businesses looking to hire IT support specialists.
