The State of Oregon has committed to supporting the educational and training needs of Oregonians through the establishment of Future Ready Oregon. Future Ready Oregon, is a comprehensive $200M investment package that supports the education and training Oregonians need for family-wage careers, prioritizing underserved communities. These are strategic and targeted investments that focus on advancing opportunities for historically underserved communities, including adult learners, dislocated workers, and youth.
This grant reflects one component of Future Ready Oregon known as the Workforce Benefits Navigator Program. Workforce Benefits Navigator is a program of the Higher Education Coordinating Commission (HECC) and is administered by Local Workforce Development Boards (LWDBs). Workforce Benefits Navigators deliver outreach, engagement and referral services to workforce programs for priority populations in Multnomah and Washington Counties. Workforce Benefits Navigators provide outreach, career services, and referrals for priority populations toward industry-specific Training and employment opportunities in Worksystems’ five target sectors: Healthcare, Advanced Manufacturing, Construction, Childcare/Early Learning, and Clean Energy.
